“So keep on shooting stars to me, keep playing me your song. Whilst you dance atop the rainbows and blow heart-shaped leaves along.”
Becky Helmsley
Lives need to be honoured so stories can be shared and remembered. That way, the people we love live on in our hearts.
Whether your loved one was 80, eight years old, or eight weeks old, their life story should be recognised. I also support and walk alongside anyone who wishes to hold a funeral after the loss of an unborn or stillborn child, to help you work through your grief.
Your loved one may have been explicit about their wishes, or you may wish to explore the details of the ceremony with me when we meet. Either way, we will work together to create something that feels fitting with personalised readings and rituals. The feel of the ceremony is also completely up to you - whether that’s spiritual, humanist or to recognise a particular religion.
How I work…
You can call, text or email me, whichever you prefer, or we may be introduced through a Funeral Director
If we’re connected through a Funeral Director, they will liaise with me and I will contact you to arrange a meeting
We will meet face-to-face to discuss your thoughts and wishes for the ceremony. I can also provide suggestions for rituals and readings, as needed
I will share a draft of your script for you to consider and make any changes
I will share the final script with you, usually 48 hours before the ceremony
Officiate your ceremony (as per the approved script)
You will receive a printed copy of the script as a keepsake
I can also help with producing the Order of Service, if you wish
What do I charge?
£240 - you can book me directly, or a Funeral Director may introduce us.
£350 - for memorials or celebrations of life that don’t take place within the constraints of a crematorium schedule, as this allows for more creativity to enhance your bespoke ceremony.
There is a travel fee of 50p per mile for ceremonies more than a 30 mile radius from Leeds.
